The
2007-08 X and XII Board result has been more than stupendous.
The Alma Mater gave cent percent result in both classes. In class
X, Maneet Taneja topped the result with 93.4% making her teachers,
parents and school proud. Heena Attri scored 91.6 %, where as
Sumedha Bhatia scored 86.6%. Over all, 7 students scored above
80% marks, where as 23 students scored I division.
NATIONAL PAINTING COMPETITION:
National Painting Competition was held at Bal Bhawan, Karnal on
28th August. Pranav of Class III and Vinay of Class VIII won the
consolation prize.
SSC POETIC RECITATION COMPETITION:

SSC SWIMMING COMPETITION:
The school took the privilege to successfully organize
VI Sahodaya School Complex Swimming Competition 2008-09 on 28th
Aug. The competition witnessed a massive participation of over
200 students from 11 schools. The participants competed aggressively
for 28 events in three different categories. The school topped
the medal tally with 7 gold, 10 silver and 5 Bronze medals &
lifted the Over-all Trophy ; HPPS, Madhuban spotted II position
with 9 gold, 6 silver and 4 bronze medals; where as Dyal Singh
Public School remained III with 3 gold, 7 silver and 6 bronze.
The winners were felicitated by the honorable Principal Mrs. S.L.Bakshi.
She congratulated the winners and wished them good luck for the
future competitions.
SWIMMING
Shaheed Udham Singh District Swimming Championship was
held at Karna Stadium, Karnal on 31 July. In a scintillating performance
Simarjeet Singh,XII won Gold Medal in 50m and 100m. free style
and Silver medal in 50m. breast stroke, where as Harjinder Singh,
XII won Bronze Medal, each in 50m. free Style and 50m. Back Stroke.
SKATING:
Peer Warraich, class XI and Sanpreet, class XII won II position
in School State Roller Hockey Tournament, held at Karnal from
25-28 August.
The
School team participated in 22nd District Roller Skating Championship
held from 28 to 30 Nov. 2008 held at Tagore Baal Niketan Sr.
Sec. School, Karnal. The Master Champ Shivam Sharma of Grade
VII won I position in Rink Race 1 and III position in Road Race
in a pioneer effort. Whereas Sanpreet Singh of Grade XII bagged
II position both in Rink Race 1 and Road Race.

Meenakshi
Rathi, XII competed for the Jr. Essay Contest organized by Competition
Success Review in August. Her essay on ‘Television a Boon
or a Bane’ fetched her I position and was placed in Highly
Commendable performance. In the September edition, a short biography
of the great Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam, pen down by Cheshta Sharma
of class XI was also acknowledged as Highly Commendable Performance.
Angel
Oliver of Grade XI won 2nd position whereas Meenakshi Rathi of
Grade XII won Highly Commendable position in Jr. Essay Contest
No. 642 organized by Competition Success Review on penning their
thoughts on ‘Shaheed Bhagat Singh’. Both the scholars
again received Highly Commendable award in Contest No. 643 for
their essay on the topic ‘Rani Lakshmi Bai’.
VICTORY AT CSSRI:
One
of the dearest gems of the school, Heena Attri of XI N.Med participated
in Inter School Hindi Declamation Contest organized by Central
Soil Salinity Research Institute, Karnal on 26th July. She presented
her views on “Climate Change” with such brilliance
that accolades showered on her from all corners. She was adjudged
II in the competition
FOOT BALL:
The
school Under-14 yrs team won the I position, Under-17 the II position,
and Under-19 the III position respectively in the School Zonal
Tournament held at Karna Stadium, Karnal from 25th to 27th July,
2008
In the School District Tournament held at Karna Stadium from 29
to 31 July, the school Under-14 and Under-17 teams won I position,
whereas the Under-19 team won the II position.
The school Football team lifted Sahodaya School Complex Foot Ball
Trophy by beating the host Rising Sun Public School by 4-1 on
Nov. 19 2008.

Winrock
International India conducted a Word Power Quiz Contest Vol. 34
Jan-March 2008 in their monthly magazine ‘Resource’,
sponsored by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE),
Government of India. Sunidhi Patiyal of class IX participated
in the competition and bagged third prize
BASKETBALL:
In the School Zonal Tournament held at Karna stadium,
Karnal from 25-27 July the school Under-14, Under-17 and Under-19
teams remained upbeat and won I position.
In the School District Tournament held from 29-31 July, the school
Under-14, Under-17, and Under-19 teams again came out victorious
hurling the school flag high.
Anmoldeep
Virk of XII participated in Junior National Basketball Championship,
held at Bhilwara, Rajasthan from 25 June to 01 July. He was also
selected for Youth National Basketball Championship, to be held
at Bhilai, Chattisgarh in September, 2008.
Sombir
Nain of X was a member of the team that won II position in Sub
Junior State Basketball Championship, held at Hisar from 7-9 June.
Jagmeet class IX, participated in Sub Junior National Basketball
Championship, held at Kapurthala, Punjab from 15-21 June.
The
school Basket ball team lifted Sahodaya School Complex Basket
Ball Runner up Trophy losing in the finals to R.S. Public School

Exhibition
of Unmatched Talent:
The
school Artists challenged the veterans in different competitions
organized by Distt. Council of Child Welfare, Karnal in mid September.
Vinay of Grade VIII won II position in Poster Making Competition.
Khyati of VI won III position in Greeting Card Making Competition.
In the Pot Painting Competition Divya of Grade X won I whereas
Ruchi of XI won II position respectively. The children were honoured
on the Children’s Day.
Powered
with a brilliant intellect, Shambhav Shandilya of Grade VII participated
in Cyber Olympiad organized by UNIFIED COUNCIL on 12th Sept.08.
He secured 651st Rank at the National Level.
Successful
Organization of XIV Football Tournament:
The
School received the privilege of organizing CBSE Cluster XIV Football
Tournament from 11to 13 Oct. 2008. 32 Schools from the region
fought hard to mark their supremacy over others. The host school
lost to MNSS, RAI in the finals and lifted the Runners-up Trophy.
Mrs. Sumita Singh, MLA, Karnal presided over the closing ceremony
as the Chief Guest.
Scholarship
The
school grant Scholarship ranging from Rs. 2000/- to 10000/- to
National and State level Sportsmen and to class VIII onwards students
who score 80% and above in Academics.
Ace
Performers in School:
The School had the honor to have four world-class musicians and
members of Spic Macay from South India to present a concert of
classical music. The maestros included Lalgudi G J R Krishnan
and his sister Lalgudi Vijayalakshmi with the violin and Mr. Vasan
and Mr. Chandershekhar playing Ghatam for the audience. The Star
artists have already given their shows in as many as 15 countries.
The lady artist was in all praise for the children who in spite
of being alien to classical music showed tremendous love for it.
The one-hour show was enthralling and absorbing, said the School
Managing Director, Maj. R S Bhinder.
